What are the functions of ABS recycled materials
ABS recycled material is a new type of material with perfect characteristics. What are its functions?
Although there are many types of ABS resin, the coloring agent used basically requires good heat resistance, weather resistance and strong covering power. Common colorants include titanium dioxide, cadmium pigments, iron red, ultramarine, carbon black and other inorganic pigments, as well as phthalocyanine pigments and quinacridone organic pigments. Because ABS contains rubber, the color will be uneven. If the dyeing is different, the reflection is different, and the color light seen is also different.
If the color is thicker, it can compensate for this defect. Therefore, when ABS plastic particles are produced by manufacturers, the amount of coloring agent is relatively large, generally about 2%; The addition amount of titanium dioxide is as high as 10%. The amount of colorant is large, so it is necessary to consider the problem of dispersion of colorant. In addition, ABS resin changes color easily when heated and illuminated by ultraviolet light, so it is necessary to select pigments with small change. The effect of pigments on the ultraviolet aging of ABS resin is the same as that of polystyrene and other plastics. The aging of ABS recycled materials will be promoted by ultraviolet irradiation, especially the rubber components with dimer bonding are simply affected by ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, if the product is exposed outdoors for a long time, it will change color and the impact strength will decrease. However, if ABS materials are mixed with inorganic or organic pigments to make products, even if they are exposed outdoors for a long time, their strength will hardly change.
In addition, the Rockwell hardness and tensile strength have little change. In the above situation, it is clear that the ultraviolet influence only remains on the surface of the colored object. The surface of the colored object reflects or absorbs the ultraviolet light, and then forms an outer surface layer to maintain the interior. The interior of the molded object is hardly affected by ultraviolet light, so the physical properties change little. In contrast, the aging degree of natural resin is significant. Generally, the greater the UV absorption capacity of the pigment, the greater the anti-aging effect. Therefore, when selecting pigments for ABS resin, full consideration should be given to the impact on the resin. For example, for ABS recycled plastic particles used outside the room, appropriate pigments with high concentration and strong hiding power should be used as far as possible to improve the light resistance of the polymer itself.
